About this part

Inner door handle 83610-1Y000 for the Kia Picanto built 2011 to 2016, the left rear position. This is the interior pull handle that the passenger uses from inside, mounted in the door card, not the outer handle.

The handle is a plastic lever on a metal spindle with a return spring, and it pulls a cable or rod that releases the latch. On the Picanto the lever is a known wear item: the spindle boss cracks, the spring loses tension, and the handle starts to feel loose or fails to return to its rest position. In the worst case the lever comes away in the hand and the door cannot be opened from inside at all.

Replacement does not need the door card to come off completely. Remove the screw in the grab handle recess, release the card clips along the bottom edge, and peel the top of the card back far enough to reach the two screws that hold the handle. Unhook the release rod, swap the handle, and clip the rod back on before the card is pressed home. Check that the door opens from inside with the child lock in both positions before finishing.

The lever is moulded in the original grey, so no painting is required. It fits left rear only; the right rear and the front handles are different parts with different numbers.

Supplied as one handle. Order the matching door card clips if the originals break on removal, because they usually do. 12 month warranty against manufacturing defects.
