This is the blower motor resistor for the heater and air conditioning blower on Renault cars, carrying the number 7701205065. The resistor sits in the blower circuit and drops the voltage fed to the motor, which is what gives you the lower fan speeds; when it fails the fan usually keeps only the highest speed, loses the middle settings, or stops altogether. The body is the ceramic resistor block with a mounting flange and a short connector pigtail, as shown in the photo, so check that the plug and the fixing holes match the part you are taking out. Before ordering, read 7701205065 off the old resistor and look at the connector: a melted or browned plug is common on these and means the motor or the wiring should be checked as well, otherwise the new resistor will fail in the same way. A quick test is to run the fan through every speed with the ignition on; if only the top speed works, the resistor is the usual suspect.
