Drum brake wheel cylinder 41101-0T010 for the front brakes of the Nissan Atlas II (F23 / H41 / H42) cab-over truck, built 1993 to 1997. Bore 1-1/8 inch (28.58 mm), M10 x 1.25 inlet thread, grey cast iron, TRW reference BWN701. The opposite side number is 41100-0T010, so order one of each when you replace the pair.\n\nThe cylinder body is cast iron rather than aluminium because the front drum on these chassis runs hot and cast iron keeps the bore round instead of distorting. The bore is honed twice, the piston faces are hard anodised to resist the abrasive grit that gets past old boots, and the seals are EPDM with a dust boot and a steel expander that keeps the cup pressed against the bore as it wears.\n\nFitting notes: cap the brake line as soon as it is off so the master cylinder does not run dry, clean the backing plate, and check that the shoe contact pads are not worn into steps. Fit new shoes if the old ones are oil soaked, because fluid contamination does not clean out of the lining. Bleed the whole front circuit, then check pedal height and the handbrake adjustment.\n\nSigns the cylinder has gone are a wet boot, a brake warning light from low fluid, a pulling front end under braking because only one side is working, and a pedal that needs two pumps to feel normal.
